Wooden Humidors:
Wooden humidors bring a classic, timeless feel to your cigar storage. Available in a range of wood types and finishes, they not only protect your cigars but also add a touch of tradition to your setup. With wooden humidors, it’s important to season them properly before first use to ensure they hold humidity correctly. Regularly checking and maintaining humidity levels is key to keeping your cigars from drying out and preserving their full flavor.
Acrylic Humidors:
Acrylic humidors are a great choice if you want something low maintenance without sacrificing quality. Unlike wooden humidors, which can need frequent attention (especially in drier climates) acrylic humidors are much easier to manage. Simply add a Boveda packet or another humidity control device, check it once in a while, and you’re good to go. They’re a hassle-free option that still keeps your cigars fresh and protected.
Humidors are essential in maintaining the quality of your cigars. They trap humidity to prevent your cigars from drying out, and also keep your cigars from collecting dust. If you’re traveling with cigars, you can also use a travel humidor to keep them fresh while they’re outside of their main humidor.
Before storing your cigars, your humidor needs a bit of prep. This preparation is called “seasoning” and it helps your cigars maintain their humidity. When you receive your humidor, the wood is going to be dry, so when you throw your cigars in and add your humidity sponge or packet, the wood with absorb the moisture, rather than the cigars. To prevent this, you want to take a damp rag and rub the inside of the humidor to moisten the interior.
